Practice Approach

Basic Approach to Care

The process of healing from most musculoskeletal disorders can be broken down into basic categories of loosening muscular and fascial compensations from injury or overuse, then retraining weakened and imbalanced muscles. This is accomplished through a combination of the various treatment options mentioned previously in the services section.

Passive/ Active Care

Passive care is care provided to a patient by a healthcare provider. Active care is care that is primarily initiated and maintained by the patient. Typically, care transitions from more passive to more active as treatment progresses and a patient is able to do more with less pain.

As a patient at SSPRC, our goal is to transition you as rapidly as

possible from passive to active care, so that you can become as self-sufficient as possible. Active care training may begin as soon as on the first visit, depending on the severity of your condition. With a little education, training, and help, most patients can become well-empowered to maintain their own musculoskeletal health.
